Search Ottawa 67's goaltender Danny Battochio online, and you'll find pages and pages of results. Unless you're
an OHL fan, or a personal friend or family member, "Battochio" probably isn't a household name. In fact, you might have never
even heard of him. So what's all the hype about?
Danny, better known to 67's fans as "Batman", has become just that in Ottawa. He's our junior hockey Superhero.
What
makes him a Superhero?
It's not the fact that he was a walk up in training camp 2 years ago. An unknown name not even
supposed to make the OHL, now turned star.
It's not the fact that he had corrective vascular surgery after having
fallen ill over Christmas break in 2003. And then returned for the #1 goaltender position for the 2004-2005 season.
It's
not the fact that he's extremely dedicated to his fans and his team.
It's not the fact that he has almost single-handedly
carried the Ottawa 67's, who were struggling for the most part of the regular season, to the OHL finals, and Memorial Cup,
with outstanding games and saves.
It's all of these facts put together that have made Danny Battochio a legend, fan
favorite, and Superhero in Ottawa.
To show Batman our appreciation as fans, we decided to create a page where
information, pictures, and messages from fans could be shared. We will try our hardest to keep the site updated. Any pictures
or information from fellow fans can be sent to us, to be put up on the site. Enjoy! And please, take the time to let Danny
know his fans are behind him by leaving him a message in our Bat-Book!
